By default, Magento’s layered navigation reloads the page on each selection and lets shoppers pick one option per filter. Advanced Layered Navigation adds AJAX filtering, so results update without a reload, plus multi-select filters. It also adds category, price, stock, rating, new-product and on-sale filters.
